Visiting Nurse Service chooses a new name

LINCOLN – Visiting Nurse Service of Greater Rhode Island has changed its name to Visiting Nurse Home Care to more accurately reflect its focus on health care for patient and families in the home, as well as the expanded growth of services beyond Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts.
“This new name is a better reflection of who we are and what we do,” said Donna M. Gouveia, president and CEO of Visiting Nurse Home Care. “Our staff and nurses provide the highest quality of care to our patients where they most want to be – at home.”
The non-profit, community-based home health and hospice provider was founded in 1908.
Headquartered in Lincoln, the organization has about 150 employees and volunteers, including nurses, therapists, medical social workers, and home care workers. Together, they provide services to more than 3,400 patients and families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
