CVS Caremark Charitable Trust recently presented a $97,000 donation to Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island as a part of CVS Caremark Corp.’s national Day of Giving event. The check was delivered to Women & Infants by Eileen Howard Boone, vice president, CVS Caremark Charitable Trust.
“All of the nonprofit organizations we support share our commitment to providing greater access to health care and medical services and improving the lives of children with disabilities,” Boone said. “The CVS Caremark Charitable Trust is honored to work with Women & Infants and all of its nonprofit partners to help people on their path to better health.”
According to Betty Vohr, a doctor at Women & Infants Hospital, the hospital had requested the grant in order to support the hospital’s Transition Home Plus program. The program provides parent education and support to families of premature infants, who have an increased risk of medical, behavioral and developmental issues. The funding will be used to expand Transition Home Plus into Massachusetts. •
