PROVIDENCE – A pair of Women & Infants Hospital staff members, Cynthia Zembo and Eric Olson, were recently awarded with the Richard P. Welch Award for Continued Excellence in Patient and Family Centered Care.
Zembo is a lactation consultant who works to develop relationships along the model of patient- and family-centered care. Patients said that she had a highly individualized approach to care.
Olson was awarded as a nonclinical winner for his work in the Food and Nutrition Department. He is also the proud father of a baby who started life in the NICU at Women & Infants and he speaks at conferences for NICU dads and their families, as well as providers.
