KINGSTON – As part of the ceremonies marking the 75th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Rhode Island’s World War II Foundation will debut its newest documentary, “Remember Pearl Harbor,” inside Hangar 79 on Ford Island, Pearl Harbor at a Dec. 4 event.

The foundation’s 17th documentary, produced in cooperation with Tim Gray Media and narrated by Tom Selleck, will air on over 100 PBS stations across the nation after its debut.

The 84-minute film documents the personal stories of those who were in Pearl Harbor at the time of the attacks on Dec. 7, 1941 and the beginning of the nation’s involvement in World War II.

Footage includes interviews with more than 35 World War II veterans, Hawaiian citizens as well as an interview with Mitsuo Fuchida, the leader of the Japanese air attack.

Tim Gray, chairman of the World War II Foundation and director and producer of the film, said Selleck’s narration of the film was “very meaningful.”

“Tom was a member of the National Guard when he was younger and obviously knows Honolulu and Pearl Harbor well from his days filming ‘Magnum, P.I.,’” he added.

Survivors of the U.S.S. Arizona, a battleship sunk off the coast of Pearl Harbor as a result of Japanese air attacks, other survivors of the attacks and World War II veterans will be in attendance at the December premiere.
