PROVIDENCE – Walgreens and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island recently announced a collaboration aimed at giving fertility patients access to nurses through both a mobile app and the patients’ computers.

With BCBSRI members undergoing complex fertility treatments, the goal of the joint program is to simplify treatment and improve care as couples move through the journey to parenthood.

“We recognize the importance of being able to provide convenient and quality fertility care and are pleased to collaborate with BCBSRI to help their members and our patients access, understand and administer medications to help achieve family goals,” said Joel Wright, Walgreens divisional vice president, specialty pharmacy.
Walgreens nurses will provide education as well as continued support for patients managing the complex therapy.
