Walkathon to benefit Tiverton Library

Posted 5/25/12

TIVERTON – The Friends of Tiverton Libraries is hosting a Walkathon on June 2 in support of the new Tiverton Library at Bliss Four Corners which so far counts over $3 million – nearly 75 percent of its fundraising goal – toward construction. All funds raised from the walkathon’s $20 entry fee and sponsor donations will benefit the new library. The walk also is part of the Community Festival and Book Fair taking place the same day at Tiverton High School. The walkathon will start at 9 a.m. at the high school track. The track is handicapped accessible and stroller-friendly. The fundraising effort for the new library recently celebrated a $250,000 grant from the van Beuren Charitable Foundation for a children’s wing.
