WalletHub names best small cities in U.S., Warwick ranks highest in R.I.

Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts are home to some of the best small cities in America, according to WalletHub’s latest report.
The financial services website said its analysts compared 1,268 cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 based on 30 key indicators of livability, including housing costs, school-system quality, adult obesity, average commute time, property crime and violent crime rates, and number of restaurants per capita.
Warwick ranked highest on the list for Rhode Island cities, landing in the 70th percentile, while Attleboro ranked the highest among Southeastern Massachusetts cities, appearing in the 55th percentile.
Cranston was in the 47th percentile, followed by East Providence at 37th, Pawtucket at 24th and Woonsocket at 11th. In Southeastern Massachusetts, Taunton ranked in the 39th percentile, while Fall River and New Bedford were near the bottom, with respective percentiles of 10th and second.
The best small city in America?
Westfield, Ind., which ranked in the highest percentile at 99th.
