WESTERLY – A Wapan Road home in Watch Hill recently sold for $5,975,000, marking the largest sale in that community in 15 months, according to Ray Mott, co-owner of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.
The nine-bedroom home at 6 Wapan Road known as “Stoneleigh Cottage” was sold to Jonathan and Margaret Kelly. The home, built in 1915, previously was owned by the Judith S. Noel Trust, according to information from the assessor’s office. The sale was recorded on Jan. 4, Mott said Thursday.
“This classic shingle-style home is sited to take full advantage of the views of Little Narragansett Bay and the Pawcatuck River with expansive decks facing south and west for watching the sunset,” said Desa D. Buffum, broker associate at Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, who represented the buyer in the sale.
Olga B. Goff Real Estate listed the property for $6.5 million.
Mott said 2015 was “an outstanding year” for his clients and company.

“Our average single-family home sales price exceeded $1 million, and we expect to meet or exceed that record in 2016. The Wapan Road sale proves the enduring value of luxury real estate in Rhode Island,” Mott said.
