WESTERLY – The Washington Trust Charitable Foundation has donated $15,000 to the Greater Westerly Chamber of Commerce Foundation for “Bring Back the Beach,” the Misquamicut Beach Recovery Fund.

Hurricane Sandy did significant damage to the Misquamicut Beach area.

“This is our hometown, and we are committed to helping our community,” said The Washington Trust Co. Chairman, CEO and President Joseph J. MarcAurele. “We hope this donation will help our neighbors restore the Misquamicut Beach area for all to enjoy.”

Greater Westerly Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Konicki said, “We are truly grateful to Washington Trust for taking a leadership role with the Misquamicut Beach Recovery Fund.”
