Washington Trust collects 8,500 pounds of peanut butter

WESTERLY – Washington Trust has collected more than 8,500 pounds of peanut butter in its 13th annual Peanut Butter Drive for Rhode Island food pantries.
“Washington Trust is committed to helping Rhode Island families in need,” said Washington Trust
Chairman, President and CEO Joseph J. MarcAurele, who is president of the board of directors of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
“Statistics indicate that one in six children go to bed hungry at night. We’re proud to do
our part,” MarcAurele said. “Over the past 13 years, we’ve collected enough peanut butter to make more than three million sandwiches.”
Washington Trust donated peanut butter to North Kingstown Food Pantry, Jonnycake
Centers of Peace Dale and Westerly, Wood River Food Pantry, Bread of Life Food Pantry, Comprehensive Community Action Program, Providence In-Town Churches Association, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and West Bay Community Action Program.
