Washington Trust donates $8.5K to local food pantries

The Washington Trust Co.’s Charitable Foundation donated $8,500 to more than 15 food pantries around southern New England.
“Washington Trust is committed to helping our neighbors in the communities in which we live and work,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust chairman and CEO. “We hope our support helps make the holidays a bit brighter for those in need.”
Receiving Rhode Island pantries included Bread of Life Food Pantry, the Jonnycake Center, Westbay Community Action, and Westerley Area Rest Meals Inc.
The Washington Trust Charitable Foundation supports an array of local organizations that promote cultural diversity, education, economic development, family services and revitalization programs.
Washington Trust has also been recognized as a Platinum Company by United Way of Rhode Island because of the contributions of time and resources made from the bank, as well as its employees. •
