Washington Trust is apple-festival sponsor

The Washington Trust Co. helped celebrate the change of seasons as a major sponsor for the 27th annual Apple Festival held at Johnston War Memorial Park this past weekend.
As a part of the sponsorship, Daniel P. Orovitz, assistant vice president and branch manager presented a $5,500 check to the North Central Chamber of Commerce prior to the event.
The festival attracts more than 5,000 visitors each year for its selection local food, live entertainment, amusement rides and pie eating contests.
“Just this year we opened our first location in Johnston; our 19th branch in the state of Rhode Island,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust chairman and CEO. “We’re thrilled that Washington Trust is now a part of the Johnston community and playing a role in one of the town’s most celebrated events.” •
