Washington Trust sponsors Historical Society concerts

WESTERLY – The Washington Trust Co. in Westerly sponsored the annual outdoor summer concert series “Concert Under the Elms” held by the Rhode Island Historical Society.
The popular series is held on the lawn of the John Brown House Museum at 52 Power St., Providence, under the elms, of course. It ran from June 28 to Aug. 16 Six concerts were held, and featured the likes of the Duke Robillard Band and Pendragon.
“Now in its 16th year, the Concerts Under the Elms are a Rhode Island institution,” said Kathy Clarendon, director of development for the RIHS. “These concerts could not happen without the generous support from our sponsors and we want to thank Washington Trust for helping us carry out our mission to collect, preserve and share Rhode Island’s history.”
Washington Trust highlighted the series as part of its “I Luv RI” campaign, recognizing the concert series as one of the great things about Rhode Island.
