Washington Trust appoints new VP

WESTERLY – The Washington Trust Co. has appointed a former Brown University trusts and estates manager as its new vice president, wealth-management officer.
Joanne Speroni-Woody, of Cumberland, will assume administration responsibilities for the bank’s estates and trusts, according to a press release. She will work with the bank’s high-net worth and institutional clients.
Before joining Washington Trust, Speroni-Woody acted as trusts and estates manager for Brown University since 2013, but her professional background is with banks. Between 1984 and 2013, she worked for BankBoston, Fleet National Bank and subsequently Citizens Bank where she was employed from 2002 through 2013 as its trust and estate administrator.
A graduate of Providence College, Speroni-Woody currently serves as a member of its President’s Council. She also serves on the Endowment Committee of the Cumberland Land Trust and the Program Planning Committee for the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island.
