Watch Hill Inn named one of top family-friendly hotels

WESTERLY – The Watch Hill Inn has been named one of the top five family-friendly hotels, according to Conde Nast Traveler’s 2015 Hot List of the best hotels and resorts in the world.
Sixty properties made the list, which, in addition to listing family-friendly hotels, also names the best bargain hotels for under $200 a night, beachside escapes and urbanist standouts, as well as the best design stars, good food, over-the-top luxury, and remote and wild.
Watch Hill Inn, in Westerly, was the only Rhode Island hotel to make the hot list, which features hotels as far away as Aman Tokyo in Japan (a design star), The Pig – on the beach in Dorset, England (good food), and Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp in Namibia (remote and wild).

Elsewhere in New England, Edson Hill in Stowe, Vt., also earned a spot on the family-friendly list, and 21 Broad in Nantucket, Mass., landed in the best bargain hotel category.
Conde Nast Traveler Editor-in-Chief Pilar Guzman said, “The standout properties were those that understood the intuitive needs of the modern traveler. The sweet spot for a Hot List hotel is a combination of old-school extravagance and service with just the right measure of modernity.”
