WaterFire partners with Nursing Placement to provide first aid station
WATERFIRE PROVIDENCE is partnering with Nursing Placement Home Health Care Services Inc., to create the WaterFire First Aid Station, which will provide first aid services to the public at WaterFire lightings at the corner of Washington and North Main Streets.
PROVIDENCE — WaterFire Providence will partner with Nursing Placement Home Health Care Services Inc. to install the latest addition to the downtown attraction — the WaterFire First Aid Station — the nonprofit arts organization announced on Friday.
Provided by Nursing Placement, the first aid station will take the form of a 24-foot, fully equipped RV staffed by two certified, Nursing Placement health care professionals.
Each WaterFire lighting attracts thousands of spectators, and as accidents and injuries can occur at any time and any place during the event, it is important to have on-site first aid care available for those in need, WaterFire said in a release.
The station will provide first aid services to the public throughout all full WaterFire lighting events this season. Nursing Placement will provide immediate treatment for dehydration, scrapes, bumps and bruises, allergic reactions, bee stings as well as other services at the station.
Under the supervision of trained nurses, the station will also act as a safe space where lost children may wait for their family members if separated during the WaterFire event.
Nursing Placement is a Pawtucket-based, family-owned business that has provided health aid, nursing, therapy and hospice services to clients in the comfort of their homes since 1976.
The first aid station will be located at the intersection of Washington and North Main Streets and operate from sunset to midnight.
