Webster holds financial abuse seminars

PROVIDENCE – Webster Bank is conducting as series of free seminars on preventing elder financial abuse. The seminars, designed to help seniors and their families understand, identify and respond to financial fraud targeted at the elderly, are part of a yearlong initiative being held across the bank’s footprint in southern New England and Westchester County, N.Y., according to an announcement from the bank.
The seminar at the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center on July 8 drew about 25 people, according to bank spokeswoman Brenda Greene. Seminar speaker was Sharon Trask, senior vice president and market manager for Webster Bank’s Rhode Island and shoreline Connecticut region.
The next scheduled seminar will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at the Attleboro Council on Aging at 25 South Main Street in Attleboro, Mass.
