Webster sets United Way giving record, collects $1.27M

WATERBURY, Conn. - Webster Bank employees raised $1.27 million for the United Way in the 2012 Employee Community Campaign, according to a press release from the bank.

The funds will go to more than 40 United Way chapters and more than 100 United Way partner agencies in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Westchester County, N.Y.

“For more than 75 years our team at Webster has been committed to supporting the United Way…and demonstrated how we live united by giving back to the communities we serve,” said Webster Bank Senior Vice President for Commercial Banking Jim O’Meara.

The $1.27 million set a record for the bank’s United Way employee campaigns, according to the release.
