Last week Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee released his second budget proposal as governor. It included increases in the meals and beverage tax, as well as fee increases and other proposals to increase the amount of money the state takes in per year.

Do you think the governor’s approach is a prudent one for the state?

How about instead of raising revenues to fit the budget, that we fit the budget to the amount of revenue that comes in already? You can't keep trying to squeeze blood out of a stone. The entire US is better than this state in pretty much every single category. What don't you get? CUT SPENDING and adjust the budget to the amount the State already takes in and stop this foolishness once and for all. Tuesday, February 14, 2012|Report this
