Will the plight of American automakers affect your next purchase decision?

General Motors is not the first company to turn to the "Buy American" motto to try and drum up sales. But in GM's case, the issue is not just about drumming up sales, it is about survival.

The company already has received billions of dollars form the federal government and is in line to receive billions more, or it will be forced into bankruptcy.

The question is whether the real possibility that GM (as well as Chrysler) may fall into bankruptcy unless they can somehow stimulate a large increase in sales will persuade people to buy one of its automobiles. Where do you stand on the issue?
