Starting Friday, the Newport Winter Festival will commemorate its 25th anniversary with a Silver Sparkle Celebration to include 10 days of food, music and entertainment in Newport. Touted as “New England’s largest winter extravaganza,” this year’s festival will feature more than 150 events, including a fireworks display, a children’s fair, family entertainment and assorted cook-offs. Participants can purchase WinterFest buttons for free admission to, or discounts on, all official festival events. The buttons are also valid for discounts at local stores and restaurants.
