Wolfe named Cox GM

WEST WARWICK – After 17 years with the company, John Wolfe has been named senior vice president and general manager of Cox Communications, Cox announced Thursday.

Wolfe, formerly the company’s vice president of government and public affairs, will oversee day-to-day operations of the company’s 1,400 employees in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio.

In addition to his position as vice president of government and public affairs, Wolfe has overseen the development of the company’s regional government affairs, internal and external communications and corporate philanthropy strategies.

“John has a brilliant business mind and is a great team leader. He’s been in the industry for a long time and Cox’s New England-Cleveland assets will be in good hands under his leadership,” Alex Taylor, Cox’s senior vice president of field operations, said in prepared remarks.

Wolfe, who has served as the region’s interim general manager, succeeds former GM Paul Cronin. Cronin joined corporate headquarters as senior vice president of customer experience.

Wolfe is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and currently lives in Cheshire, Conn. He is the active in several industry organizations including the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association, the Greater Providence Chamber of Congress and Justice Assistance in Rhode island.
