Women-Owned Minuteman Press Warwick Awarded WBE Certification

11/2/11 03:06 PM

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick today announced that its Warwick location has been awarded WBE certification by the State of Rhode Island. The Providence location is now entering the application process.

WBE Certification is a meticulous process, including a comprehensive review of the business and a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by one or more women.

Specifically, the contribution of capital and expertise by the women owners must be substantial and in proportion to the interest owned. The women business owners must further direct policy, fiscal, and operational matters for the company. Finally, the women business owners must have the ability to perform in the company’s area of specialty without reliance on the finances or resources of a non-women owned entity.

“We have been 100% women owned and operated for over twelve years, and look forward to working on projects we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do without the WBE Certification,” said Karen Fraielli, co-owner of Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick.

The WBE Certification is one of the most widely recognized and respected certifications in the nation. Thousands of corporations and many federal and government agencies recognize and accept the certification into their vendor-business relationship selection processes.

“We’re proud to be successful women business owners in Rhode Island and it’s rewarding to be recognized by the State as such,” said Valerie Chanoux, co-owner of Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick.
