Women’s Health Council’s seventh annual conference to focus on women and the opioid crisis

PROVIDENCE – The Women’s Health Council announced its fall 2016 conference, “Women and the Escalating Opioid Crisis: What is happening now and what providers need to know.” The free event, sponsored by Lifespan Women’s Medicine Collaborative and Lifespan Community Health Institute, will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4:30-8:30 p.m., at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University’s auditorium 170, at 222 Richmond St., Providence. Registration is required.

The program begins with a brief introduction from R.I. Department of Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott and announcement of the winner of the Spark Award.
An overview of the state of the state in the opioid crisis, a panel discussion on practical realities for providers and a question-and-answer session will follow.

A box dinner will be provided, and free parking is available at the adjacent Richmond Street garage (see security for parking voucher). The program has been submitted for approval for continuing education credits for doctors, psychologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, licensed medical health counselors and chemical dependency professionals.
