Women’s group gives to Providence Center

PROVIDENCE – 100+ Women Who Care in Rhode Island, a group of women dedicated to supporting local charitable organizations, recently donated $10,000 to The Providence Center’s Home Base program to support homeless people with behavioral health problems to find and stay in housing and improve their lives.
“We are honored to have been chosen by 100+ Women Who Care as their third donation made this year,” said Dale Klatzker, president and CEO of The Providence Center, in a statement. “This is a remarkable group of women dedicated to engaging and making change in our community- a value we share.”
100+ Women reports their mission as to maximize women’s leadership in philanthropy by engaging and educating its membership about the community work of chosen organizations and through collective giving. The group was founded this year and has donated more than $38,000 to local organizations.
The Providence Center, founded in 1969, serves the behavioral and mental health care needs, as well as substance abuse assistance needs, of more than 12,000 Rhode Island residents each year.
