World Trade Day highlights success

Posted:

Later this week Bryant University hosts the 29th Annual World Trade Day. The event provides inspiration and connections to companies looking to boost their presence in the global markets.

(Editor’s note: Providence Business News Editor Mark S. Murphy is moderating a panel discussion at World Trade Day.)

The theme of this year’s World Trade Day examines the idea that manufacturing operations in the United States are regaining significant business, especially those that focus on high-value products, and that there are many Rhode Island companies taking that approach and winning new business all the time.

Concurrent to World Trade Day is the official launch of Manufacturing Rhode Island, including its website, manufacturingri.com. The effort supports Rhode Island manufacturers looking to prosper in the hyper-competitive markets of today.

The site not only helps companies find new customers, it will facilitate the creation of new relationships, strengthening the web of manufacturers in the Ocean State, and in the end, bringing more jobs here. •
