Would you be willing to pay extra for wind power today as a hedge against future increases in carbon-based energy prices?

One of the attractions of wind energy is its independence from the volatile nature of fossil fuel prices, which are expected to rise in the future as the developing world continues to increase its demand for petroleum, natural gas and coal.

A recent poll conducted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth indicated that Bay State residents would be resistant to paying higher electricity rates in order to receive their power from offshore wind farms.
