PROVIDENCE – Wright-Pierce Chief Financial Officer John R. Nelson was appointed chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies Tax & Regulatory Affairs Committee at its recent annual convention and Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C.
Wright-Pierce is a water, wastewater and civil infrastructure company serving the Northeast.
The ACEC serves as a representative voice for America’s engineering industry, advocating and educating on behalf of the engineering profession. ACEC is a federation of 51 state and regional councils whose members represent over 5,000 firms with more than 500,000 employees nationwide, employing engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists and other specialists. The ACEC is responsible for more than $200 billion of private and public works annually.
In his new role as committee chair, Nelson will assist ACEC staff in communicating with members and identifying and advocating for key tax, financial and regulatory issues that impact the industry.
Nelson has been with Wright-Pierce since 1995 and has served as chief financial officer since 2002.
