Michael Souza joined Providence Business News as a staff writer in December 2011. He previously worked as a reporter for The Westerly Sun and as the editor of The Narragansett Times, where he began his career as a reporter. In 2007 he won a national award from the Suburban Newspapers of America for the best news series of 2007, and has won several other state awards. He has freelanced for several magazines and websites and has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Rhode Island.
