U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed announced Friday $9.3 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation to reduce jet noise affecting residents living near T.F. Green Airport. Of the $9.3 million, $887,032 is expected to help to voluntarily acquire three homes impacted by aircraft noise. An additional $8,435,954 will provide sound insulation mitigation to airport-area residences. more
