CHARLIE KROLL'S PROVIDER of online banking products, Andera, has inked a deal that gives Intuit division Digital Insight the rights to market its online banking products.

PROVIDENCE – Andera Inc., the nearly decade-old provider of online banking and account opening software founded by Brown University student Charlie Kroll, has struck a deal with Digital Insight, a division of Intuit, to distribute its products to mid-size banks and credit unions.
The deal, which involved an undisclosed investment by Digital Insight in Andera, should increase Andera’s business, said a company spokeswoman.
“We are excited to be working with Digital Insight, a company renowned for online banking innovation and industry leadership,” said Charlie Kroll, CEO of Andera. “The combination of online banking and account opening is a natural one, and with broad overlap already between our existing financial institution customers, integrating our solutions and delivery made complete sense.”
Digital Insight will offer all four levels of Andera’s product platform, which is designed to allow financial institutions to open and fund new accounts in a quick and simple online process.
“Working with Andera helps us arm our clients with yet another important capability to establish and grow a primary financial relationship with new and existing customers,” said Glenn Tom, senior vice president of consumer solutions at Digital Insight.
The strategic relationship is only the latest news from Andera, which last summer announced a partnership with Open Solutions Inc. that allowed the financial-data processing firm to offer Andera’s account opening and funding system to its clients. In addition, the Providence-based firm, which is now up to 64 employees, has attracted a total investment of $750,000 from the state’s Slater Technology Fund.
Andera Chief Executive Office Charlie Kroll was recently named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s annual New England Entrepreneur of the Year award. Kroll is also a three-time winner of Providence Business News’ 40 Under Forty award.
Andera Inc., a financial-technology firm based in Providence, offers automated online account opening and other products and services for retail financial institutions. Additional information is available at www.andera.com.
