Foresight wins another federal contract
By PBN Staff

PROVIDENCE – Foresight Science & Technology Inc., a firm that specializes in technology commercialization, has won a contract from the U.S. Navy. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the contract, the Navy will use Foresight’s T2+2 Web service. T2+2 – short for Technology Transfer Tools and Training – is a system for managing information about various types of technologies. Foresight created a Software & Internet Services group in March to market it.

“Everyone in technology transfer acknowledges targeted marketing is the best way to move technology. Yet everyone bemoans the fact it is hard to do,” Phyl Speser, Foresight’s CEO, said in a statement. He said T2+2 offers an affordable solution.

“This award validates the model works as well for the defense sector as it does for the civilian sector,” Speser added. “As an established defense contractor, we are very excited to be able to add this innovative Web-service to our hands-on consulting in technology transfer and transitioning.”

T2+2 now has more than three dozen customers, according to Foresight. They include universities and medical centers; the National Institute of Standards and Technology; the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Energy; and companies and nonprofits.
