THE BIF-5 SUMMIT IS SCHEDULED for Oct. 7 and 8 at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence.

PROVIDENCE – The nonprofit Business Inventory Factory (BIF) has finalized the lineup for its fifth annual Collaborative Innovation Summit, BIF-5, which will take place in Providence this October.
The group has added 11 more “storytellers” who will participate in the event, bringing the total number scheduled for this year to 28. The names of the other 17 storytellers were released during the spring.
Each of the storytellers, who are also leaders in their respective fields, will share a 15-minute tale of how they turned an idea into an innovation.
The 11 new storytellers added to the roster this week are:
- Linda Avey, co-founder of the genetic coding company 23andMe.
- Russ Daniels, vice president and chief technology officer of Cloud Services Strategy at The Hewlett-Packard Co.
- Sarah Endline, mastermind and chief rioter of the fair trade candy company, Sweet Riot.
- Natalie Jeremijenko, artist with a background in biochemistry, neuroscience, physics and precision engineering.
- Nell Merlino, CEO and founder of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence and the creator of Take our Daughters to Work Day.
- Neri Oxman, designer and researcher at MaterialEcology.
- Patricia Seybold, founder and CEO of Patricia Seybold Group and author of Outside Innovation.
- Stephen Trachtenberg, former president of George Washington University and authority on higher education.
- Helmut Traitler, vice president of innovation partnerships for Nestlé
- Alan Webber, journalist and co-founder of Fast Company magazine. He has also authored three business books.
- Jocelyn Wyatt, designer for the innovation and design firm IDEO.
The fifth annual Collaborative Innovation Summit will be held on Oct. 7 and 8 at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence. Co-hosting the summit will be Bruce Nussbaum, contributing editor of BusinessWeek magazine and Bill Taylor, co-author of the book “Mavericks at Work” and co-founder, along with Webber, of Fast Company.
Tickets for the event cost $1,200 for regular registration and attendees must be registered by Aug. 15. Members of BIF can send up to five guests to the event.
BIF also announced that this year’s event will include increased audience participation. During the summit, six audience members will be asked to take the stage and share a story of innovation from their personal experience.
