E-Verify bill still alive in Senate
The state Senate sponsor of a bill that would require private employers to use the E-Verify system to check the legal status of new hires is “hopeful” that the measure, stalled for three years in the Senate, will finally win approval when the legislature reconvenes for a special session next month.
