More R.I. stores accepting food stamps
Retailers see recession’s toll as 1 in 10 state residents enroll
As the use of food stamps in Rhode Island continues to rise amid the recession, so does the number of stores where food stamps are welcome, such as Save-A-Lot supermarket in Providence, left. More than one in 10 Ocean State residents received the benefits in July.
