For the November edition of its Rhode Island Breakfast Series, SBANE presents “Community Health Buzz: The H1N1 Swine Flu Epidemic,” a small business breakfast discussion on Wednesday, November 4th, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Providence Marriott Downtown.

As Director of the State Department of Health and co-chair of the Governor's Pandemic Flu Workgroup, David Gifford, MD, MPH, believes that Rhode Island small businesses are extremely vulnerable to H1N1. Dr. Gifford will address the state’s current H1N1 influenza activity and how the Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to monitor recent outbreaks and promote prevention and treatment in Rhode Island.

In addition, Laura Adams, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Quality Institute, will share the results of a Boston Consulting Group study on the return on investment from Rhode Island's Health Information Exchange.
