NEWPORT – Writer William Cohan will talk with hedge-fund manager Bill Ackman and director Ted Braun following a screening of Braun’s documentary, “Betting on Zero,” which is about Ackman’s crusade against Herbalife, tonight on the lawn of Ochre Court.

According to newportFILM, approximately 1,000 people are expected to attend.

Ackman is an activist investor and founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management LP.

The film details his crusade against Herbalife, a nutritional-supplement company, to expose it as a pyramid scheme. However, Herbalife execs claim Ackman is a market manipulator out to bankrupt them and make a killing off his billion dollar short.
newportFILM, in its seventh season, said “Betting On Zero” “weaves deception, hubris, intrigue and greed in a surprising, deeply emotional dive into the world of money, fraud and the American Dream.”
Film screenings are free to the public.
The film will be shown at 8:10 p.m., and will be followed by the discussion. Prior to the screening, food vendors will be available, starting at 6:30 p.m. Music will be performed by Silverteeth at 7 p.m.
