Susan A. Baird joined Providence Business News as a copy editor in July 2006 and became Web editor in February 2007. She previously had worked at The Providence Journal, as a copy editor, page designer, section editor and business reporter. She also had been a copy editor at the Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Mass., and managing editor of the Kent County Daily Times in West Warwick. Baird studied chemistry at Harvard University and journalism at the University of Rhode Island. She is co-author, with Dr. Angelica Redleaf, of the book “Behind Closed Doors: Gender, Sexuality and Touch in the Doctor/Patient Relationship” (Westport, Conn.: Auburn House, 1998).
