Denise M. Perreault joined Providence Business News as a staff writer in March 2008. She previously had worked at The Call in Woonsocket, winning state and regional awards for her efforts as a staff writer, news editor, city editor and assistant managing editor. Before that, she had worked at The Times of Pawtucket and the former Pawtuxet Valley Times, now The Kent County Times, in West Warwick. In 2009, Perreault was named Rhode Island Small Business Journalist of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. She is a graduate of Brown University, and lives in Cumberland with her husband, Jim Baron, a writer and columnist for The Times and The Call.
