WARWICK - FarSounder Inc., a sonar technology company, is teaming with Los Angeles-based Strategically Armored and Fortified Environments to provide advanced underwater sonar technology for SAFE's maritime clients.
SAFE, a leader in the field of residential, corporate and super-yacht security, has a contract to provide marine security systems for the Burger Boat, a new class of super-yacht currently in production.
"As master integrators, SAFE spans the globe in search of the finest components for the creation of its world-class security solutions," said Al V. Corbi, SAFE's president. "Key to SAFE's leading-edge marine designs is FarSounder, the front-runner in underwater 3-D imaging."
Used on commercial and private ships for obstacle avoidance and shallow water navigation, FarSounder FS-3 sonars are capable of generating a complete 3-dimensional image of the sea floor and underwater objects at navigationally significant ranges with a single ping.
This new sonar technology revolutionizes marine navigation, especially in shallow areas. The standard user interface software includes automated alarms, BSB chart plotting capabilities, and GPS, compass, and depth sounder display capabilities.
FarSounder declined to put a value on the contract.
