WARWICK – The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted FarSounder Inc. a third patent on its award-winning 3D forward-looking sonar technology.
“This latest patent covers various aspects of our bottom-mapping and obstacle-avoidance techniques,” Matthew J. Zimmerman, founder and vice president of engineering, said in a statement.
FarSounder specializes in sonar technology for marine navigation, especially in shallow waters, and for defense and security applications. The company is currently working on a project for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
