33-Year Leader in Restoration Passes Torch to Next Generation

“Fifteen years working together has lead to this moment,” said Eric Anderson, the new President and owner of Enviro-Clean Restore, Insurance Reconstruction Services and Greenville Kitchens & Bath Design. “and I couldn’t be more excited. I am eternally grateful to my father for the opportunity, his trust, and the ease of this transition. He was a true entrepreneur from the day he launched his first company in 1983. Now his legacy will stay preserved as the companies shift to the next generation.”

Following a strategy and planning meeting in November 2015 between founder, Jack Anderson and his son, Eric Anderson, they agreed, the time was now. It was time for the father to pass the torch to his son.

There is never a doubt that family businesses are complicated. It’s estimated that in the US alone fewer than 30% of family businesses survive to the second generation. According to William O’Hara, former President of Bryant University (College) and author of Centuries of Success (Lessons from the World’s Most Enduring Family Businesses), US-based family businesses employ 70-80% of the workforce and more than 50% of the GDP. He says, “Family business symbolizes the entrepreneurial spirit of perseverance and success. For centuries, an endless number of family businesses have been established but most have not survived.”

Insurance Reconstruction Services, Enviro-Clean Restore, and Greenville Kitchens have a path to do more than just survive, Eric has a plan for growth. “I believe in order to grow and grow healthily, we must continue to attract top talent. We find people with the highest work ethic and uncompromising integrity. Right now we have a great team assembled as our clients and customers would attest. I’ll continue to surround myself with a team that compliments my strengths and makes up for the areas where I need it.”

Anderson is working with his business development team to begin increasing sales through some new markets. “We rely heavily on referrals from insurance agents and insurance professionals” he says. They have over 33 years name recognition and company experience. The disaster restoration industry (fire and water damage clean-up and Anderson’s expertise in mold remediation and indoor air quality solutions) is highly competitive in southern New England, but Anderson believes they stand out because of the consistent quality of work and drive for excellence. In fact, in the past ten years, they received 2 different business excellence awards from Providence Business News.

Anderson loves to share his vision for his companies. He has challenged his team to become the most professional organization in the industry from how they communicate with customers and with each other to how they operate within customers homes and businesses. Each employee understands that with this, they also demonstrate how to connect with customers with authenticity and empathy. Their customers often have just experienced a traumatic event in their home or business. “Our team knows how to take these stressful events and create an amazing customer experience with our fast response, professional and friendly teams and quality craftsmanship.” Anderson concludes. “And after that, with our other services like Greenville Kitchens, we’ve created customers for life.”
