Proceeds from show to benefit children of abuse and neglect

PAWTUCKET, RI, April 6, 2011—More than 300 people attended the Children’s Shelter of Blackstone Valley’s (www.csbv.org) 4th Annual Fashion Show, held at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln. Reflections of Spring featured the latest fashions from Rhode Island clothiers. Channel 10’s Alison Bologna served as the show’s Master of Ceremonies. Sponsors included Navigant Credit Union, Pawtucket Credit Union, Dupuis Oil, Pawtucket, Appraisal Solutions, Lincoln, and East Commerce Solutions, East Providence. Proceeds raised by the fashion show benefit children of neglect and abuse in Rhode Island.

“Attendance at the fashion show exceeded expectations,” says Eileen Hernandez, executive director, Children’s Shelter of Blackstone Valley. “We thought the slow economy might hurt attendance, but we had a good crowd. It was fun and people loved the spring fashions. Plus, Alison Bologna did a great job as MC. We want to thank her and everyone else who helped us put on the show, especially our sponsors, the local businesses, and the models who contributed their time and effort.”

The second straight year the show was held at the Twin River Event Center, this year’s show featured spring fashions from Sassy & Classy, East Greenwich, White House/Black Market, Cranston, Teddy Bearskins, Wickford, and Our Place Tuxedo, North Providence. Salon Deniz, Cumberland, provided the hairstyles and make-up.
