The event will feature award-winning, design-build projects by Roger Williams University students

Providence, RI – Pannone Lopes Devereaux & West LLC (PLDW) Partner Teno A. West, who is also Chair of the Design-Build Institute of America, Rhode Island Chapter, will host a ‘meet and mentor’ showcase event on December 1 for local professionals in the construction industry and Roger Williams University (RWU) students who were recognized in November for their innovative design-build construction projects by the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC), Region 1.

PLDW and Gilbane Construction are co-sponsors of the event, which is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will feature RWU’s six-member student team presentation of its award-winning construction projects, and provide a chance for students and professionals to meet and discuss industry best practices and the trends and future of the design-build construction industry. The ASC competition for Region I include construction projects from students enrolled in schools from Maine to Virginia.

The event will be held in RWU’s Shawmut Design and Construction Management Project Center, located in the School of Engineering. RWU’s address is One Old Ferry Road, Bristol, RI 02809. Parking is available in Lot I on the campus and the event will take place in room SE-125.
Registration before or at the event is required and a fee of $20 will be charged. There is no fee for students. People can pre-register with the DBIA at www.dbiane.org.

Mr. West has held leadership positions in the DBIA/New England Chapter for the past five years. He is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of his practice and is a leader in the field of alternative delivery approaches, including design-build, design-build-operate, and public-private partnerships. Mr. West has served as the lead negotiator for the development of several cutting-edge environmental and civic municipal infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
