SAS / OPTREL AG Strategic Agency Agreement – PRESS RELEASE
RHODE ISLAND COMPANY TO BRING 40-50 NEW JOBS INTO RI
PROVIDENCE, RI (October 22, 2010) – Optrel AG (Switzerland) – formerly SPERIAN Welding Protection AG has formed a strategic agency partnership with SAS Marketing LLC located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, USA. SAS will assume the account management and growth initiative roles of Optrel AG’s business in the Americas.

Jason Lague currently serves as the President/CEO of S.A.S. Marketing LLC located in East Greenwich, RI. He is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island; Jason holds a Bachelors of Arts in German and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. He also received his MBA in Organizational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University. Jason has served in various senior management roles throughout Rhode Island and has expansive experience in Branding, Sales and Business Development. Recently he was a
victim of job loss due to his previous employer moving out of the State and has made it his mission to create jobs in Rhode Island.

Through their state of the art Customer Care Center, SAS will manage customer service, marketing, and sales activities for Optrel’s accounts in the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America (excluding Brazil). This Agency Partnership not only combines the synergies of two strong organizations, it is also bringing some greatly needed jobs to the state of Rhode Island.

Since 1986, Optrel AG specializes in the design and manufacturing of welding helmets for the industrial and professional markets. They have an extensive product portfolio with both active (LCD) and passive welding helmets ranges offering solutions that meet the needs of welders across the globe.

The combination of innovation, reliability, and quality with an absolute focus on safety is the core pillars of the company’s philosophy. Optrel AG is owned by brothers Rene and Marco Koch.

The goal of SAS Marketing is to p¬¬¬artner with manufactures, engineers, inventors, and entrepreneurs to help bring their products to market through SAS’s growing team of experts in sales, marketing, and customer service. The company foresees tremendous opportunities for job growth in these areas by partnering with manufactures who want to enter or expand into the Americas, while also working with them as part of a long term goal to begin manufacturing in Rhode Island. The company intends to create up to 40-50 jobs in Rhode Island within the next 2 years.

In addition to the Optrel partnership, the company is developing a full line of outdoor power tools (TRIMM Power Equipment) and is finalizing a joint venture with a Serbian based industrial food processing manufacturer who would like to expand into the US and begin manufacturing in Rhode Island.
