Pawtucket, RI; John Atwood, President of Rhode Island Trucking Association (RITA) announced today that RITA is the new TWIC location for the State of Rhode Island. As of the beginning of the year, all TWIC Cards (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) for RI will be issued and renewed out of the RITA Offices, located at 660 Roosevelt Avenue in Pawtucket. Membership in RITA is not required for this service. Currently, the TWIC Center will be open on Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

In addition, RITA will now be providing Commercial and IRP Registration services for their members, as well as handling Overweight Permits for the State of Rhode Island.
“We feel as though this is a very valuable service for our membership, especially if we can help to keep them from wasting their valuable time in line at the DMV waiting to register vehicles,” said Atwood. Initially, RITA is looking at a 48 hour turnaround on these services. Members will receive the required documents based on the type of registration, which once completed are returned to the RITA offices. A small transaction fee will be charged to cover administrative costs associated with the program.

The Rhode Island Trucking Association, Inc. (RITA) is a chartered, non-profit organization whose membership is made up of truck owners; fleet owners; private and for hire motor carriers; and allied industries including manufacturers, dealers, service stations and suppliers. Since 1931, RITA has represented and promoted all motor carrier and transportation interests on the state level. RITA, the only statewide trucking association, has been an affiliate of the American Trucking Association since 1944.
