Cranston, R.I. – Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation (RIPCPC), Rhode Island’s largest IPA, is excited to announce the integration of eye care providers within its physician organization. RIPCPC will be hosting an eye care provider affiliate membership seminar on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 pm. This informational meeting will be held at the RIPCPC offices, 1150 New London Ave, Suite 20, Cranston, R.I.

The cornerstone for this collaboration will be the development of an Eye Care POD.  These eye care providers will meet regularly with the IPA’s 140 primary care physicians to better coordinate care for their shared patients. This integration will also allow RIPCPC’s physicians to smoothly facilitate direct referrals to competent, capable, and available eye care providers. RIPCPC’s Primary Care providers will be guaranteed that their patients will get timely access to routine and emergency eye care services, as well as engage in regular communication concerning the patient’s care.

This integration will improve eye care services that are delivered to Rhode Islanders and allow for an improved standard of communication between the patients’ health care teams. The RIPCPC eye care members will foster a positive partnership with the IPA’s network of 140 primary care physicians.

The meeting is open to all interested eye care providers, including optometrists and ophthalmologists who want to learn more about joining RIPCPC as an affiliate member. If you are interested in becoming part of this groundbreaking effort focused on enhancing communication, improving access, all while improving to quality, please contact Lisa Ariosto Stanelun @ at 401.654.4000 ext. 115 or by email at lariosto@polarismedical.com
