The New England SIOR Chapter Names Matt Fair as the 2012 RW Holmes Scholarship Recipient
Fair of Cushman & Wakefield | Hayes & Sherry will begin working towards his SIOR designation

BOSTON, (October 16, 2012) – The New England SIOR Chapter announced Matthew T. Fair of Cushman & Wakefield | Hayes & Sherry, Providence, Rhode Island as the 2012 RW Holmes Scholarship Recipient. The 13th Annual Scholarship Night that was held on Wednesday, October 10th at the Brae Burn Country Club of Newton, MA. Incoming National SIOR President Terry Smith joined the New England Chapter in congratulating Fair and discussing the growth SIOR has achieved globally.

Fair joined Cushman & Wakefield | Hayes & Sherry in 2007 as a commercial real estate broker. His primary concentration is in the office division of Cushman & Wakefield | Hayes & Sherry Real Estate Services where he focuses on Tenant Representation and Investment Sales. Fair manages the leasing of 40 Westminster Street, a 265,000 square foot class A office tower as well as the strategic leasing efforts for several downtown Providence office buildings.

Fair has been actively involved in over $50 million of Real Estate transactions, and his financial analyses have helped clients in a diverse cross-section of industries, realizing cost savings and improved efficiency through solid real estate strategy.

“Fair’s success as a broker, as well as his dedication to many civic and charitable organizations in the local community made him a prime candidate for the 2012 scholarship award,” stated Thomas P. Farrelly, President of the SIOR New England Chapter Board of Directors. “Fair has significantly increased revenue for his firm by working with startup and growing companies, developing a platform to manage the company contact database, and streamline marketing efforts to better target high growth companies in the local information technology sector.”

Fair received his Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Fair is an active member of the community and currently serves as a committee member for the Providence Foundation’s “Young Leaders Association,” as an ambassador for Rhode Island Family Services “Dining Out For Life” program, and is a past student mentor at Year-Up. Fair is the Founder of Betaspring/ 38 studios Job’s Meet-Up, and is an active participant in Providence Geeks, Save The Bay, Surfrider Foundation, and Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides.
