Proceeds to benefit the Rhode Island Community Action Association

EAST GREENWICH, Rhode Island – The Savory Grape, a leading boutique wine and spirits shop in Rhode Island, is holding the 6th Annual Savory Grape Charity Fall Wine Festival to benefit the RI Community Action Association (RICAA), a statewide nonprofit that helps economically disadvantaged and working families with essentials such as shelter, healthcare and food.

The annual wine festival is a sold-out event each year. Attendees taste many international wines from highly regarded producers and of rare vintages, enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, music and silent and live auctions.

“The Savory Grape Wine Festival is the perfect way to start the holiday season with friends and taste great wines in a beautiful historic setting at The Dorrance in Providence,” said Jessica Granatiero, owner of The Savory Grape and The Savory Affair. “This has become an annual gathering of community contributing to a wonderful local cause.”

To date, The Savory Grape’s wine festival has alternated charitable giving each year between RICAA and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank as beneficiaries. The festival raised $21,000 last year for the food bank.

Tickets are $75 and are on sale at The Savory Grape and online at www.thesavorygrape.com. The event is from 6-9 PM at The Dorrance, 60 Dorrance St., in Providence, the site of last year’s event. An after-festival gathering will be sponsored and held at Gracie’s Restaurant in Providence until 10:30 PM.

Corporate sponsors include Adler Pollock & Sheehan, BankRI, East Greenwich Spine & Sport, Gencorp Insurance Group and Hinckley, Allen Snyder. Sponsorships are still available.

About The Savory Grape Wine Shop (www.thesavorygrape.com)

The Savory Grape is one of the premier wine shops and online stores in Rhode Island. Its 1,700 square-foot shop carries a unique array of wine, craft brews and specialty spirits, not often found in other stores. A staff wine connoisseur, beer lover or scotch enthusiast is always on hand to assist with customer selection. The shop affords customers a chance to learn about their favorite wine – its taste, smell and characteristics – and choose from a vast international selection. The shop’s level of personal service, look and feel and carefully-selected inventory arranged in a customer-friendly manner make the shop a regular national destination- just like a favorite bookstore.

In 2010, The Savory Grape’s Jessica Granatiero received the 40 Under 40 award by Providence Business News which honors the region’s most successful people under 40 years of age.
