Providence, RI – Turino Group, a Providence-based project management, scheduling and software development firm, announced today that that their 3D modeling for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) was recently highlighted in the Federal Highway Administration’s recent EDC-2 Final Report for three major projects: Apponaug Circulator bypass, Magnolia Bridge and Central Bridge.  Since 2009, FHWA’s Every Day Counts initiative has encouraged the adoption of proven technologies and business practices that enable state and local agencies to do more with less.

Turino Group’s 3D models assisted RIDOT by increasing stakeholder involvement, reducing costs and construction time, and minimizing traffic-related construction conflicts.

RIDOT has been utilizing Turino’s 3D modeling and 4D schedules to enhance projects by simulating them virtually before executing them in reality – reducing risk, errors, and inefficiencies that are common to more traditional forms of Project Management.

“Our use of technology in the transportation industry is providing great impact on projects for our clients, says David Giardino, President of Turino. “Clients such as RIDOT have seen savings of up to 10 times the cost of services and saved months of construction time on some very critical projects.”

Turino’s unique combination of Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3D Modeling, and CPM Scheduling expertise allows them to offer true 4D simulations (3D models linked to actual construction schedules) to show every member of the project team exactly how the schedule represents the sequence of construction on projects.

In addition to being recognized for their use of technology (3D modeling and 4D scheduling), Turino has been nationally recognized by the FHWA for best practices in project management and scheduling.
